Welcome To Catford
Plese enjoy this post written by local blogger, new to the area

“You’re moving to Catford?”
“Yes,” I Replied. Hoping to sound confident. I wasn’t, at all…

I was bricking it, moving to an unfamiliar area, which hasn’t always had the best reputation with a toddler and pregnant. There was a lot on the line.

At the time I didn’t have the insight into the fun, vibrant, colourful place which is now my home. If I had, I would have put a stop to the faces frowning at Catford. So it’s my plan to do it now!

Having lived in various parts of London and the UK, Catford is without a doubt the friendliest place I have lived and has a wonderful sense of community. I’m so happy that we, as a family, made the decision to move here and I’m confident that it is the right environment to raise our children.

My mission is to share my love of Catford with you, by showcasing all of the exciting things it has to offer — which can be enjoyed with or without little ones in tow.

And so High 5 Catford has been created…a space to shout about all of the amazing places in Catford. I love the place and I want you to love it too!

These are just a few of my favourite spots:

The River Pool Linear Park is beautiful! You can stay local, have a picnic and feed the ducks, or even wander along the river all the way to Greenwich where it is only a short hop to the very pleasing Mudchute Farm through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel. There are also a few decent pubs you can stop at along the way.

The Blythe Hill Tavern serves one of (If not) the best pints of Guinness in London! It’s also got an ace garden which is perfect for kids and is super friendly — you can’t really ask for more.

Little Nan’s Bar is one of the newer additions to Catford, and a very welcome one! They have coffee and cake during the day and cocktails in teapots. They also serve a blinding afternoon tea and have a gold statue of the one and only Pat Butcher! They are amazingly friendly and kids are welcome!

This is just a little taste of what’s happening in Catford — there is so much more that I want to share with you. It also has some pretty lovely neighbours, so we’ll be taking a look at them as well.

I am passionate about Catford, but by no means an expert, so I need to hear where you think deserves a High 5 too!
