Culverley Green Advent Windows 2018

Do you live in the Culverley Green area of Catford?
Would you be interested in joining a fun community event by creating a Christmas display for your window?
Each night 1 or 2 windows are lit up with a theme of the season. Until we have lots of magnificent windows by December 24th.

This will be the third year of the Culverley Green Advent Windows. Each night of advent a new window is lit up with a theme of the season – religious or holiday fun. Until on Christmas Eve we have at least 24 beautiful windows in the area for the community to enjoy. We started in 2016 with just 24 participating, last year we got 36 houses and this year we are hoping for 48 so we have 2 per night. Everyone is welcome to join in, whether they are a professional or amateur artist or want to do something fun with their family. It brings the community together over these beautiful window displays. People who don’t join in say they love going to see each one, or taking the children for a walk around the neighbourhood to see whats new. Holy Cross Church sponsored one of the windows, and St Lawrence Church had a picture in their vicarage window. This year the Unitarian Church will also be getting involved. As I saw it is not a religious activity, and as you will see from the pictures attached we have a whole range of themes.

This is a truly lovely event to be involved with, and everyone in the community gets to feel the Christmas spirit by enjoying your festivities glowing windows
We welcome everyone to take part whether you are a creative cat or just want to do something fun.
