Rum/Black Cake and Gizzada

Free Black History Month Event  –  20 October 7-9pm  Archibald Corbett Community Library, Torridon Road, SE6 1RQ

People of the Caribbean like desserts and sweets from Rum cake soaked in spices and rum, to Gizzada with grated coconut and pastry.  In this workshop we explore the origins and recipes of:

  • Rum cake different in each Caribbean island with its own flavour and recipe
  • Gizzada; how you can still get that gizzada fix and it still be the gizadda that everyone loves

Bring your cake, gizzada or sweet recipes and stories for an interesting and fun evening.  This event is brought to you by the Healthy Habits Project.
No need to book but do come early to avoid disappointment as venue has limited seating. Venue has disabled access.
