Urban Flyers launches the Drone Taster Days in Catford

Urban Flyers launches the Drone Taster Days — a brand new drone event for the residents of Catford.

Team Catford is leading a programme of meanwhile use to ensure we make the most of vacant spaces as the long-term process of regeneration takes place. As part of this programme and to celebrate their launch in Catford, Urban Flyers are holding free “Drone Taster Days” which offer local residents the opportunity to access, learn and create with drone technologies.

Date: Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November 2018
Time: 10am-5pm
Place: 2-3 Winslade Way, SE6 4JT (formerly Store Twenty-One) in Catford Shopping Centre.
Cost: FREE
Attendees must register prior to their visit.

To register for the sessions, email the Urban Flyers Team at info@urbanflyers.co.uk.

Urban Flyers organises workshops, training and drone experiences that help young people and adults get to grips with drone technology. Our workshops are an opportunity to learn new skills and we’ve been visiting schools, youth clubs and inclusion centres to deliver our drone clubs throughout local communities.

The Drone Taster Days in Catford will consist of hands-on flying experience by manoeuvring the drones through different obstacle courses. Everyone aged 7+ is welcome to come along, meet the Urban Flyers team, have a tour of the Hub, and ask questions.

Simon Melbourne, Project Manager, said:
“I am proud that we are able to offer this exciting and unique event for the local residents of Catford. We are confident that people will enjoy themselves, connect with others from the local area, and learn new skills. If you are interested in joining us for these taster sessions, don’t worry if you have never piloted a drone before. The Urban Flyers team are on hand to help you develop your skills, no matter the level or experience you have of flying.”
