Volunteer to help us with our website – The Fabulous LOVE CATFORD

The Love Catford website team needs your help!

‘Lucy LoveCat’ and the amazing ‘Whizzy Liz’ are currently alone in bringing you all the fabulous posts you see weekly on this, our amazing community website, Love Catford – please help us out.

We are looking to increase our web administrator numbers so we can always ensure we get you news of all the wonderful things happening in the area and keep your fingers on the pulse of the community we love.

Our website is based in WordPress – and it is really simple to post stories. When we started we had no experience at all and we have picked it up very quickly and have lots of fun.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer administrator we will give you support, training and help to get you started. you wouldn’t be expected to help us out more than an hour or 2 a week, and of course if you are busy or away, no problem – we will ask someone else to help us that time.

We mostly communicate through email or WhatsApp, so no need to find time to attend meetings and you can post things on the web using a desktop, laptop, phone or tablet – whichever you find easiest to use, at a time that suits you.

There is no lower age limit to volunteering for our web team – but you will need parental consent if you are under 18. If you want to get some good volunteering experience that will be great for your CV and university or apprenticeship personal statements this is the perfect opportunity for you. And of course there is certainly no upper age limit to getting involved.

We hope that in time you will start to find your own editorial voice and bring us stories of interest to get out to the community. But for a start, we will work together to learn and grow our website.

If you are interested please email lucy.formolli@lewisham.gov.uk and we can have a chat, arrange a time to go through the technical stuff and get to know each other better.

Whizzy Liz and Lucy LoveCat look forward to meeting you!

Dear Dave. I know what you mean when you say Catford folk can’t stomach any more dogmess. It makes you sick believe me. I’ve had my fill in my time.

  2. Joshi Manadrian on

All this talk about dog mess really drives me up the wall. I’ve really had my fill.

When are going to clear the streets and alleys and parks of dog mess? I saw a poor old Catfordite go head first into a dollop of dog dirt the other day and believe me he didn’t smell too nice. People are always asking for dog muck to be put on the agenda like my Friend Harley but nothing gets done.Folk round here have had enough of dog mess. They can’t stomach any more.
